Memoir of Mrs. of Christian Hanson
The deceased, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Hanson, was born in Canada, Feb 2nd, 1842, and died at her residence here on 6th Ave, east on Sunday March 14, 1915, aged 78 years, one month, and twelve days.
Early in life she emigrated with her parents from her native land to United States, and settled in Minnesota. She was married to Christian Hanson in Spring Valley, Jan. 29th 1860, of which eight children were born, five of whom survive, namely; Mrs. Clara L. Reed of Slayton, Mrs. Cora M. Buttermute of Petaluma, Cal., A.B. Hanson in Aden Alberta, Canada, William G. Hanson of Warren, Arizona, and Alvin M. Hanson. Those present from away at the funeral were Mrs. Reed and son Herbert of Slayton, and Roy Hasbrouck of Akely.
Mrs. Hanson was a quiet homebody, kind neighbor, and loving mother and wife. She has not been well since the death of her husband about two years ago.
The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Geo. E. Tindall Wednesday afternoon at the residence after which interment was made at Geneva cemetery.
