Alice was the daughter of Robert F. Parsons and Lucy Draper. Alice was a widow with a daughter, Ethel, when she married Hugh Nugent Fitzgerald in 1879. Hugh was editor-in-chief of The Dallas Times Herald. Alice was a society editor. When she died she left an estate which grew to a value of $750,000 before it was distributed to her heirs. She was survived by her husband and three children: Mrs. Ethel Wood Richmond, Claude E. Fitzgerald, and Agnes Cleveland Fitzgerald.

Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Parsons Fitzgerald, wife of Hugh Nugent Fitzgerald, editor in chief of the Dallas Times Herald, were held at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the family home, 243 San Jacinto Street. Services were conducted by Bishop A. C. Garrett, of the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.

Attending the funeral were hundreds of friends of the family. Prominent persons from all walks of life in Dallas were present. Mayor Hay, members of the City Commission, and other officials of the city attended in a body, the regular meeting of the City Commission being postponed in order that these officers might attend the services.

The floral offerings were numerous. The active pallbearers were: E. G. Senter, E. J. Kiest, Edward Titche, Ben E. Cabell, J. C. Phelps, and Fred Heimple. Honorary pallbearers were: C. A. Keating, I. Lorch, E. M. Reardon, C. R. Buddy, W. J. Moroney, Judge U. F. Short, J. C. McNealus, and Alex Sanger.
