Marie E. Witherite Witmer, 76, of Bellefonte, passed away Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, at Hearthside Nursing Home in State College. Born May 23, 1934, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Witherite and Elizabeth Hall Witherite. She attended the Bellefonte School System and worked as a retail clerk. She was a past member of the Living Faith Ministries. She enjoyed crocheting, the Grange Fair and spending time with her family. Marie is survived by two children, Linda Gordner (Eugene), of Hughesville and Steve Hull (Denise), of Bellefonte; by six grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild on the way; by three brothers, Lynn (Beverly) Witherite, of State College, Sam Witherite (Sonya), of State College, Lawrence Witherite, of Fleming and one sister, Edna Ritter (Sam), of Ohio. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Harold E. "Dutchy" Hull; a grandson David Lee Hill, Jr.; and three brothers, Carl Witherite, Wayne Witherite and Mick Witherite. There will be a public visitation held on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010, from 9-11 a.m., at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring St., Bellefonte. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Advent Cemetery, Boggs Township.
