MRS. PEABODY DIES
Death Due To Blood Poisoning Produced by Chronic Nephritis
Over Fifty Years in Kansas
Mrs. Abbie Peabody, 65 years old, died yesterday morning at her home from a condition of advanced septicaemia induced by a protracted siege of nephritis. The rapid decline of her health dated from the death of a favorite granddaughter, Jeanette Peabody; a blow from which she was unable to rally.
She is survived by two sons, Harlan of Muscotah and George of Kennekuk; one brother, Henry Bruce, Tacoma, Washington; and eleven grandchildren. Her Husband, George Peabody, died June 22, 1918; having pli9ed his trade as a carpenter in Kansas nearly forty years. He built or helped build virtually every house and town building erected in Muscotah sine 1880, including the Congregational church in which Mrs. Peabody was a persistent worker.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Peabody were natives of Vermont and married there, December 31, 1874, before starting on their western pilgrimage. Mrs. Peabody was born in McIndoes Falls, August 4, 1857.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at the Congregational church; unless the arrival of Henry Bruce from Washington is delayed.
