Came to America, 1764, with his father's family.lived in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, when the Revolutionary War started. Moved to Brooke County, Virginia, now WV, in 1814.
Enlisted in the fail of 1776 and served nine months as a private under Captain Culbertin and Colonel Johnson of thr Pennsylvania Line, Paton and Lacy commanded his troop. Soldier was twice discharged by Colonel Johnson, once by Colonel Buchanan, and once by Captain Poe.qas qith Washington's army at Valley Forge. Applied for pension, A, 1832, Franklin County, Pennsylvania.
