Horace D. Ball, father of our fellow townsman A.R. Ball, died at the home of the latter on Sunday last at the age of 78 years. The old gentleman has been in poor health for some time and suffered a paralytic stroke. He as a native of Massachusetts and resided for many years near Russellville, Ill.
Funeral services were held at seven o'clock Monday evening, Rev. Swartz, officiating and on Tuesday morning the remains of the deceased were taken by train to Russellville and interred beside those of his wife who died some years ago.
