Anna K. Arth, Early Homesteader, Dies

Anna Katherine Arth, 76, early Ford creek homesteader, died of a heart attack at 3:55 p.m. Monday at the Arcadian Nursing home at Greer, where she had been a patient since October I8, 1950.
Mrs. Arth moved to Orofino from Potlatch in 1907 and with her husband homesteaded on Lower Ford
creek in 1909, where they made their home until Mr. Arth's death in 1936. Following his death she moved to Weippe
The early Orofino resident was born at Belleville, Ill., on March 15, 1875, and married Alloysius Arth at Corder. Mo., January 30, 1893. Later they moved to Kansas and in 1905 to Potlatch.
She was a member of the Rebekah lodge at Weippe and of the Presbyterian church.
Her survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Herman Moore and Mrs. Leon Thomas, both of Weippe; Mrs. Day Ward, Kamiah; Mrs. George Siderius. Kalispell. Mont.; Mrs. Earl Neely, Cascade; Mrs. Earl Barnes, Aberdeen. Wash.; a sister, Mrs. Mary Corbin. Lawrence, Kan.; a brother, Wilburn Lanners, Kansas City, Mo., 14 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held today in the Pilgrim Holiness church at Weippe, with the Rev. G. Edward Knight,
Orofino Methodist pastor officiating.
Burial will be at the Weippe cemetery. The body is at Gilbert's chapel here.
