She was born in Chanute Kansas and raised in Thayer Kansas. In her lifetime she married three times and had seven children.
Her first marriage was to Leroy Swank on December 6, 1945 and ended in divorce in 1948. Thier only child was Eva Marie.
On April 18,1949 she married a second time to Franklin Raymond Nichols and they divorced in 1971. Thier
children, Patrick in 1950, Linda Sue in 1953 died at birth,
Margaret in 1956, Ruth in 1957, Abie John in 1959 lived only six hours, and Ricky in 1960.
Her third marrige was to Edgar Miller a man she had attened high school with. They married in September of 1971 and divorced in 1979.
At the age of five she fell on a tree root and sustained a bad bruise on her thigh. The bruise went into the bone where it developed into what she was told, was T.B. of the bone. By the time she was nineteen years old she had endured twenty-one operations, twenty of which was on her leg and one on her lower back at the age of eight. Half of her school years was spent in the hospital and the other half she was on crutches.
At twenty-one she had walked away from her crutches, however by the time she was in her fourties she needed the support of a crutch agin. In her late sixties she had settled into a wheelchair where she spent the remainder of her life. In 2005 she lost her good leg due to an infection.
She worked as a waitress in her earlier years. She loved to travel and lived in many different states. She also enjoyed attending chruch, a good crossword puzzle, making things with her hands, cooking, and family history,
but most of all she enjoyed life with her children and grandchildren.
She was a very giving person and gave us all so very much through out her life. She will always be loved, always be missed, and in our hearts will never be forgotten.
