Son of Thomas Jefferson H. and Margaret Ann (Hartman) Dalbey. Married Amy Elizabeth Weller on 4 Jan 1884 in Taylor County, IA. Father of Elmer Nebraskan b. 27 Dec 1884, Claude Charles b. 8 Mar 1888, Thomas Wilbur b. 23 Aug 1893 and Florence Beebee b. 23 Jan 1897.

CHARLES DALBY
Last Monday morning, Charles Dalby, of the Liberty township, passed on to the better world, leaving only friends to remember his many sterling qualities. Charles Dalby was one of God's noblemen. He had reached the allotted three score years, or thereabout, and but for an untimely accident, might have lived for many more years.
A year and a half ago, he fell from a load of feed, injuring himself so that since then he has been helpless. The best medical science failed to bring him relief.
He leaves, besides his wife, three sons and a daughter of his immediate family to mourn his going. The mourners, however, will be numbered by those who knew him.
For many years Mr. Dalby has been a director in district 19, and he always took an active interest in school matters. Supt. Cushing recalls that it was to Mr. Dalby that he applied for his first school in Valley county, and speaks most highly of him as a school officer.
The funeral was held yesterday afternoon, but we have been unable to get any further particulars.
(Copied from an obituary furnished by Doris Dalby Hill).
