"James Arthur Owens, 89, died Friday night at the convalescent center.
A native of south Missouri, Mr. Owens had been a resident here 22 years and lived at 6405 Pryor street. He was a retired custodian of Methodist Hospital. He was a member of King Hill Christian Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Clara Frankes and Mrs. Julia Dykes, both of St Joseph, and Mrs. Alma Barnes of Los Angeles, Cal.; three sons, Raymond Owens of Los Angeles, and Symond Owens and Earl Owens of St Joseph; a sister, Mrs. Nancy Luna of Dora, Mo.; and 21 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren."
