Mrs. Frakes retired from the grocery business after 25 years of service. Born in Dora, Mo., on Aug. 11, 1909, she lived most of her life in St Joseph. Mrs. Frakes was a member of the King Hill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, George W. Barnes; her second husband, Richard Frakes; her parents, James and Susan Owens; a daughter, Agnes Stout; five brothers, Raymond, Earl, Arnold, Larkin and Symond Owens; and four sisters, Alma Barnes, Julia Dykes, Maude Owens and an infant.
Surviving are two sons, Jack Barnes of St Joseph and James Roy Barnes of Derby, Kan.; two daughters, Lorraine Wray and Virginia Porr, both of St Joseph; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
