Obituary Winston-Salem Journal on September 11, 2010
********************************************************
DOBSON - Zetta Magdalene Snow Haynes passed away September 10, 2010 after several years of declining health. Born in 1917 in Boonville, NC to Byrd Winfield and Ida Holder Snow.

She graduated from Boonville High School and Business College of Winston-Salem. In 1937, Mrs. Haynes married Clarence Leo Haynes. (Deceased 1987) They lived most of their lives on Cody Trail near Dobson.

After her love for family, her love for her church family was most important. Mrs. Haynes was a long-time and devoted member of Fairview Baptist Church. In addition to singing in the choir for over 50 years and teaching adult Sunday School classes, she served on various church committees and held leadership roles in the Women's Missionary Union. Someone once said that "she had prepared hundreds of cobblers for all the homecomings, socials and funerals at Fairview Baptist Church". Mrs. Haynes' home was always filled with love and memories of many family meals together. Until 2005, her home was the gathering place for holidays and special occasions.

Mrs. Haynes is survived by a large family: Daughters, Yvonne Hodges and son-in-law, Vernon, of Elkin, NC, Charlene Price and son-in-law, Charlie, of Asheville, NC, and son, Tommy Haynes and daughter-in-law, Karen, of State Road, NC; grandchildren, Jane Hodges Wyatt of Elkin, NC, Janice Hodges Lewis of Huntersville, NC, Jason Hodges of Millersville, MD, Charla Price Muller of Charlotte, NC, Charles Price, III of Charlotte, NC, Meredith Haynes McGurn of Raleigh, NC and Amanda Haynes McGovern of Pittsboro, NC; twelve great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Haynes' surviving brothers are A.D. Snow of Winston-Salem, NC and A.C. Snow of Raleigh, NC.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, four sisters and nine brothers.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. at Fairview Baptist Church, Fairview, NC on Monday, September 13, 2010. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
