Biographical Notes from Marcia vonGunden
*******************************************
It was on September 16, 1992 that 12 people met in the basement of Paul and Lou Hutchens' Yadkinville home for a prayer meeting, a group that also included John and Ima Paulson. Nothing was quite official...all that was certain was that the group had a desire to honor their Lord.

On November 29, 1992, the first "official" worship service of what today is Maplewood Baptist Church was held at Ace's Restaurant. Rev. Larry Daniels, a Friends minister, spoke. The offering taken that day came to $527.10.

"This was a major step for us," wrote Ima Paulson in her notes on the history of the church. "We all felt uplifted. It was a great day for us all."
