Sachiko Andros, 81, died at Wellstar Cobb Hospital in Austell, GA on Friday, March 19, 2010. She was the wife of the late Nicholas Andros of Altoona, PA, a retired Army and Air Force Veteran; they were married for 49 years. Born in Tokyo, Japan, she was the second daughter of Tathunosuke and Yumi Nishida of Tokyo, where she resided until 1955 when she became a U.S. resident living in the Pittsburgh, PA area. The Andros' were stationed at Selfridge Air Force Base in Michigan in 1965, where they lived until they moved to their current residence in Atlanta in 1999. Active most of her life as a volunteer for various church charities, The Salvation Army and The Carter Foundation, Mrs. Andros was most recently a member of the Smyrna Baptist Church, in Smyrna, GA. She loved gardening, travel and most of all, her husband. She is survived by a son and daughter, granddaughters, and two sisters of Tokyo, Japan. A private family service was held at Castellaw Funeral Home in Smyrna, GA on Wednesday, March 24th.
