Mrs. Alice Ann Akins, 77, of Griffin, passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2010.

Mrs. Akins was born in Lovejoy, Ga., on March 14, 1933, to the late Willie Collier Price and the late Annie Iler Freeman Price. She was also preceded in death by her former husband, Otis Akins, and brothers, Thomas Price and Johnny Price. Mrs. Akins was a member of the Rehoboth Baptist Church.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Shirley Akins; daughters and son-in-law, Teresa and Steve Laster, Donna Pursley and Pam Whitehead; grandchildren, Terry Jr. and Kerry Akins, Chris Laster, Jason Laster, Allison Pursley, Chay Pursley and Jennifer Whitehead; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Peyton, Emma and Ethan; brothers, Floyd Price and Wilson Price; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Alice Ann Akins will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2010, at Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Argin Floyd will officiate. Friends may visit the family on Saturday following the graveside service.
