Kenneth Francis Bowling served as a Chief Boatswain's Mate in the United States Navy.

He served in the Navy during World War II and also during the Korean War.

He was a son of Lewis Henry Bowling and Emma Elizabeth (Hummer) Bowling.

He was originally from Fairfield, Pennsylvania.

He was married to Mary Wilson on August 15, 1944 at South Mills, North Carolina.

They were divorced on January 6, 1961 at Norfolk, Virginia.

He was interred in the Gettysburg National Cemetery on December 11, 1969.

SERVICES THURSDAY FOR K. F. BOWLING

Funeral services for Kenneth Francis Bowling, 51, who died at the James Gettys Hotel, Chambersburg St., where he resided, Monday morning, will be held Thursday morning, with a meeting at the Peters Funeral Home, Carlisle St., to go to St. Francis Xavier Church for requiem Mass at 10. His pastor, Rev. Fr. Alphonse T. Marcincavage, will be celebrant. Interment will be in the Gettysburg National Cemetery.

A native of Gettysburg, he was the son of the late Lewis and Emma (Hummer) Bowling. He was a 30-year career veteran in the United States Navy, serving during World War II. He retired from the Navy in Nov., 1964, as a chief boatswain's mate and took a position with the United States Merchant Marine.

Surviving is a son, Kenneth L. Bowling; a brother, John Bowling, both of Gettysburg R. 5, and a sister, Mrs. Daniel Johnston, Stony Creek, Md.

Friends may call Wednesday evening at the Peters Funeral Home from 7 to 9 o'clock with the Rosary there at 8 o'clock.
