Edwina Akins:
MINNEAPOLIS- Edwina Akins, 104, Minneapolis, died Sunday, April 13, 1997, at Ottawa County Hospital, Minneapolis.

Mrs. Akins was born Edwina Synder on March 30, 1893 at Leon, and lived most of her life in Minneapolis. She was a homemaker and member of First Presbyterian Church and Minerva Chapter 146 Order of the Eastern Star, both of Minneapolis.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ernest Gary, Roy Nett, and Frank Akins, and a son, Manford Gary.

Survivors include a son, Richard Gary of Salina, a half-brother, Homer Snyder of Escondido, Calif; three grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shields Funeral Home, 405 Argyle, Minneapolis 67467. The Rev. Patty Brown-Barnett officiating. Private inturnment will be in Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis.

Memorials can be made to the Church or Ottawa County Hospital.

The body was cremated. There will be no visitation.
