William Hake International Paper Co. Retiree
NEWBERRY TOWNSHIP William Hake, 87, of Newberry Township, died at 12:22 a.m. Friday at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Ruth N. (Miller) Hake. The couple observed their 62nd wedding anniversary April 25.
The service will be 2 p.m. Monday at the William E. Little Funeral Home, 60 S. Main St., Manchester. Burial will be in Quickel's Cemetery, Conewago Township. Viewing will be 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Hake was born in Conewago Township on Jan. 21, 1906. He was the son of the late Charles and Edith (Sipe) Hake.
He retired in 1971 as the night superintendent at the former International Paper Co. of York Haven, following 43 years of service. He was also a farmer in Newberrry Township. He was a member of Quickel's Lutheran Church and the Newberrytown Fire Company and Ambulance Club.
Mr. Hake also is survived by four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Alvin Hake, Walter Hake and John Hake, all of Dover; and a sister, Gladys Ensminger of Dover.
Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. W. Robert Kurz.
