The obituary for Thomas J. Elliott stated that he had died at his home in Windsor, Nov. 25, 1923. He was called Uncle Tommie and was born in Richland township, Feb. 14, 1833, the son of Jacob and Sarah Elliott, pioneers of this county. He married Margaret Douthit, Sep. 25, 1867 and had been married 67 years. Surviving were wife, son, Andrew W. Elliott of Windsor; daughters, Mrs. Sarah A. Scroggins and Mrs. Mary E. Barker of Windsor, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving was one foster son, W. F. Hilsabeck of Tower Hill. Mr. Elliott was the last of a large family of 10 children. One son, Jacob Elliott and daughters, Mrs. Milly Webb and Mrs. Minerva Kircher, preceded in death. Burial at Jordan Cemetery. Windsor Gazette - 27 Nov 1923
