Eva (Ziegler) Senger, 92, of Devils Lake, ND, formerly of Grafton, ND, died on Monday, January 09, 2006 at the Good Samaritan Center, Devils Lake.

Mass of Christian Burial for Eva will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake, ND. Fr. C.F. Wilhelm will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Wednesday, January 11, 2006 from 1`:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Thursday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass.

Serving as Casket Bearers for Eva will be: Steven Senger, Glenn Hanson, Tom Bertsch, Rich Volk, Bernie Deplazes and Mike Daniels. Reading the Scriptures will be Linda Frelich Music will be cared for by John Frelich, soloist and JoDee Lagein, organist.

Eva Ziegler was born on October 4, 1913, north of Towner, ND to Jacob and Mary (Schafer) Ziegler. She later moved with her parents to Noonan Township, Ramsey County and as a small child attended Noonan Consolidated School. After her completing her education, she worked at the School for the Deaf for several years.

Eva was united in marriage to Peter Senger on June 24, 1941 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Devils Lake. While her husband was in the service, Eva worked and stayed with Isabelle Svidal. When Peter returned from from the service they farmed in Cato Township until they moved to Grafton in 1965. Eva then worked at Bordens in Grafton for a number of years until she retired. In 1998, they moved to Devils Lake and she entered the Good Samaritan Home in December of 2002. Peter died on May 4, 2003.

Eva was a former member of St. John's Catholic Church, Grafton and the Catholic Daughters of America. After moving to Devils Lake she was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Eva loved to bowl and you could always find her next to a radio or TV when the Minnesota Twins were playing.

Eva is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law: Richard M. and Diane Senger of Billings, Montana, Four Grandchildren: Nicholas Senger and his wife, Brenda, Steven Senger and his wife, Cari, Peter Senger and his wife, Heather, Doris Sonntag and her husband, Dave, Eight Great Grandchildren: Ryan, Joseph, Teresa and Sarah Senger, Jason, Jonathan and Autumn Senger, Tyler Sonntag, Sisters: Catherine Engelhardt, Lena Frith, Marie (Mal) Gette all of Devils Lake, Helen (Bob) Hanson of Grand Forks, ND. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Senger; parents, Jacob and Mary Ziegler; sisters, Delores Ziegler and Eugena Busby; brothers, Joe, George, John, Jacob and Edward.
