Elva LaRee Simmons Ludlow was born March 24, 1931 to Ernest LeRoy Simmons and Addie Neilson of Charleston, Wasatch County, Utah.

She married Ray Thaddeus Ludlow on January 23, 1948, who preceded her in death in 1973 as well as their two sons, Raymond and Eugene Ludlow; a sister, Rose Smith-Maldanado; and two grandsons, Tracy Ludlow and Jarred Whitmore.

She is survived by: her two daughters, Lucy James (Brad), Gloria Ludlow (Dennis Anderson); sisters, Itha Murdock, Reva Hailing, Mural (Jack Laughter), Roberta Simmons; a brother, Bruce Simmons; sixteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Elva loved spending her time with her family, crocheting was a great joy to her. She also loved spending time with her dogs. Elva retired from Olympia Crown Kitchens in 1997.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road (1700 West), Taylorsville, UT. A viewing will be held on Friday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Memorial Estates Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, UT, and Saturday one hour prior to the services.
