John S. Arciszewski, 68, of Niles, died at 1 a.m. Wednesday in Pawating Hospital following a brief illness.
He was a retired Michigan State Police trooper and a retired employee of the National Standard Company.
Mr Arciszewski was born on Jan. 13, 1913 in Chicago and had lived here since 1942, coming from Iron River. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Air Corps, and was a member of American legion Post 283 at East Lansing.
He married Emma Lou Exner at Dowagiac on Oct. 6, 1961. His wife survives.
Also surviving are two step-sons, Terry and Mark Malling of Niles; three step-brothers, Joseph Gorecki of Bettendorf, Iowa, Walter Gorecki of Wyoming and William Gorecki of Buffalo, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Josephine Olan of Iron River, Wis.; a step-sister, Mrs. Stella Sokolowski of Rosselle, Ill.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles. The Rev. Robert L. Livingston of St. John's United Church of Christ will officiate.
