Edgar Chambers III, 74, of St. Augustine, died Jan. 16, 2004, in Milledgeville, Ga. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, president of Friends of the Southeast Branch Library, past president of Beaches Chapter AARP and a member of the St. Augustine Genealogical Society.

Services: Graveside services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta. The body will be placed in the rotunda from 10:15 a.m. until the funeral service. The family request all contributions be made to the Friends of the Library, c/o Southeast Branch Library, 6670 U.S. 1 S., St. Augustine, FL 32086.

Survivors: His wife, Jackie Shaffles Chambers, St. Augustine; children, Edgar Chambers IV and Delores Heisserer, Manhattan, Kan., Deanna Chambers, St. Augustine, Leigh Chambers Wynn and Michael David, Douglasville, Ga., Brian Chambers and Daniella Fierria, San Diego, Calif.; three grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
