Viola Radford was the daughter of John Wesley Radford and Sarah Elizabeth Moore, a pioneer family from Missouri. She was the twin sister of Cransolia Radford Macy Hall Reed Sciaroni.

Viola Radford and Levatty Silver were married August 24, 1896, in Siskiyou County, California. In July 1897 their daughter, May, was born and in August 1899 their son, Harry Maine was born.

Viola is buried next to her mother, Sarah Elizabeth Moore Radford Vick. The plot was purchased by her brother, George Solomon Radford.
