Michael Francis William Weare, age 55, formerly of Weymouth, MA, died in his sleep at home in Murfreesboro, TN, on Monday, August 30, 2010. He was born in Waltham, MA to the late Edward and Elizabeth Avallon Weare. Raised and educated in Dorchester, Mike lived on the South Shore and worked at Sears at the Fenway for 13 years, and then for BOC Gases/Airgas beginning in 1989. He left Airgas as a store manager in 2006 and moved to Tennessee where he was employed by Kroger Supermarkets. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Mike is survived by his partner of many years, Edwina Shannon of Murfreesboro, TN, formerly of Weymouth, MA. He was the beloved father of James Weare of Hahira, GA and Steven Weare of Valdosta, GA; brother of Edward Weare, Jr of Weymouth, MA, Anne Sherman of Manville, RI, Mark Weare of Quincy, MA and Jennifer Weare of Raynham, MA; stepfather of Amanda Lister of Lebanon, TN and Kevin Damstra of Sausalito, CA; and grandfather of Parker Lister of Lebanon, TN. He is also survived by many other beloved family members and friends. Visitation and arrangements were made by Woodfin Funeral Chapel, Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Mike will be entombed in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA. Services will begin at 2 p.m. on September 8. After the services, remembrances of Mike may be shared from 4-8 p.m. at the private room at Hajjars Restaurant, 969 Washington St. (Rt. 53), Weymouth, MA.
