Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the High Point Baptist Church for Mrs. Elsie Belle Brown of High Point. Mrs. Brown, 88, died Sunday, July 14, 1968, at the Kidwell Rest Home in Versailles where she had been a patient for several years. She was born in Eldon March 16, 1880, the daughter of the late Chris and Isabel (Routon) Russell.
Surviving are six children, Mrs. Grace Retherford, Sedalia, John Alexander and Ray Alexander, Kansas City, Kan., Mrs. Evelyn Beck, San Mateo, Calif., Leslie Burris, Eldon, and Mrs. Opal Twichel, Barnett; a sister, Mrs. Pearl Hartley, Fulton; 18 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Brown was a member of the High Point Baptist Church.
The Rev. R.C. Reichert and the Rev. Dean Catlett officiated at the services Tuesday. Grandsons served as pallbearers. Burial was in the High Point Cemetery under the direction of the Kidwell Funeral Home of Versailles.
