Wahington Guyer was the youngest child of Gabriel and Elizabeth Long Guyer of Pennsylvania and had several siblings. They were: Gabriel (1818), who was a soldier in the 111th OVI and died in 1866, Susan who married George Adelman, Joseph (1823) who was a soldier in the 144th OVI and died in 1873 in Illinois, Mary 'Polly' who married Levi Bartell [Bortel] - Married: 2 Dec 1842 in Wood Co, Ohio and then Andrew J Frankforter [Frankfurther - Frankfather] - Married: 5 Aug 1891 in Henry Co, Ohio, Daniel (1829), and John (1832) and Emanuel (1838) both of Weston.

The parents came to Wood County in 1832 by ox-teams and camped along the road at night. They bought forty acres of land in Weston township and constructed a log house with a bark roof and floor. The father, Gabriel, died in 1864, and his wife, Elizabeth, passed away three years later.

Washington was married to Barbara Weaver on 28 November 1861 in Henry County, Ohio. To this union there were 3x children: Perry, Clemma, and Altha.
