Robert Gordon Telecky
Robert G. Telecky, age 86, a lifetime resident of Ritzville, died on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007, at the Life Care Center of Ritzville.
The son of Edward and Alma (Monroe) Telecky, Bob was born, Oct. 17, 1920, at Ritzville. He attended Ritzville Schools, graduating from Ritzville High School in 1939. He farmed with his dad until his marriage to Betty J. Heimbigner, October 17, 1943, when they moved to a farm near Tokio, where they raised their family and farmed until retiring in 1995. They moved into Ritzville in March of 2003.
He was a member of Zion Philadelphia United Church of Christ, was active in the Marcellus and Ralston Granges; and was an honorary member of the Ritzville FFA. He enjoyed bowling in the Ritzville Senior Bowling League.
Surviving is his wife of 63 years, Betty of Ritzville; two children, a son, Neil (Sandy) Telecky and Nyla (Harold) Hennings both of Ritzville; six grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his two sons, Gerald and Nolan, and by a stepfather, Anton Telecky.
Graveside funeral services will be held today, Sept. 13, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the Ritzville Memorial Cemetery, with Pastor Amos Smith officiating.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Mr. Telecky's name to either Zion Philadelphia United Church of Christ or to Life Care Center of Ritzville.
