Mr. Atnip died Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 4, 1941, in DeKalb County to the late Goldie Lee and Mary Jim Braswell Atnip.
Mr. Atnip was a self-employed carpenter.
His family includes his lifetime companion, Betty Cook of Baxter; a daughter, Lisa Ann Atnip; two brothers, Duywayne Atnip of Nashville and Bobby Atnip of Smithville; and four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Nancy Marie Whitefield of McMinnville, Rose Mary and Buck Bain and Priscilla and Cotton Bain, all of Smithville, and Lois Ann Atnip of Nunnelly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Anita Atnip, and a brother, Joel B. Atnip.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Allan Atnip, Eugene Kirby, David Bain, Anthony Atnip, Troy Bain and Terry Bain.
Bro. Ray Jenkins will officiate at the services.
