Born in Fayette, Pa., May 18, 1886, Mr. Gilbert came to Utah when a small boy. The family settled in Scofield, later moving to Castlegate. Mr. Gilbert is a former student of the Brigham Young university.
Surviving are his widow; two daughters, Mrs. John T. Houghton and Mrs. Bernard McIntyre, and a son Victor Earl Gilbert, all of Castlegate; three sisters, Mrs. Annie Smith of LeGrand, Ore.; Mrs. Martha Nicholson of Salt Lake City; and Mrs. Mary Glenn of Portland, Ore.; two brothers, John Gilbert of Salt Lake City and Wilford D. Gilbert of La Grande, Ore., and two grandchildren.
