Victor Earl Gilbert, age 94, passed away December 6, 2021, from being tired. He was born September 23, 1927, in Castle Gate, UT, to Victor Emannuel and Maria Gilbert. Earl grew up in a small coal mining town along with his sisters Donna and Josephine. His father died when he was young.

Earl joined the Navy right out of high school and served in Hawaii. He received his college degree from the University of Utah and was true red through and through. He joined the ROTC while attending the U of U. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in England.

Earl met his true love, Marilyn, at Lagoon Park, and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple 66 years ago. Earl and Marilyn served missions in England, Nauvoo, and Georgia. He also served in the St. George Temple and loved the Lord. We miss him.

Earl was the proud father of three sons: David (Delaina), Michael (Lori), and Steven (Jensina); and is survived by his wife, Marilyn; grandchildren; and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 10, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., Green Valley Third Ward Chapel, 1282 W. 500 S. Circle (cross street Indian Hills Dr.), St. George, UT. Visitations will be held on Thursday, December 9, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Green Valley Third Ward Chapel, and again prior to services on December 10 from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
