Available records indicate that Samuel E Barber was one of at least five children born to Clark & Marilda Jane Barber. He was born September 5, 1878 in Pennsylvania, and was raised in Susquehanna County.

He married Nora Wood, daughter of Ambrose Wood & Lovinda Button (about 1899), and the couple had at least six children:

Arthur E Barber (1901 – 1990)
Laura J Barber (1903 – 1994)
Floyd A Barber (1904 – 1962)
Bernie S Barber (1911 – 1973)
ALVIN E BARBER (1914 – 1988)
Claude R Barber (1919 – 1997)


They settled in Liberty, Pennsylvania, (in McKean County), where we find them in 1910 and through 1940.


Per Portage Valley Cemetery Association President Norma Klein: Samuel died on Dec 17, 1965 of a Cereberal Accident. He is buried in Portage Valley Cemetery in McKean County.
