Glass Amos Cochran was born on Aug. 3, 1764 in Hampshire County Massachusetts and he died on Sep. 1, 1825 in Knox County Indiana.

His parents were Glass Cochran, Sr., who was born in 1715 in Armaugh, Ulster, North Ireland and Sarah Hamilton, who was born about 1746 in Marblehead, Essex Co., Massachusetts.

Glass married Mehitable "Hitty" Fuller, on 13 Oct 1789, in Blandford, Hampshire, Massachusetts. She was born on 26 Jan 1767, in Ashford, Windham County, Connecticut. Her parents were Jacob Fuller and Lydia Royce. Mehitable died on 19 Apr 1843, in Newton, Newton County Texas.

Mehitable Fuller is decended from a line that goes all the way back to most if not all of the royal houses in Europe. "Early in 1804, Glass Amos and his family moved to Franklin County, Ohio. He helped establish the first church in Worthington, Ohio. This St. John's Episcopal Church was founded 6 Feb 1804, and was the "Oldest Church West of the Alleghanies."

Glass Amos and two of his sons were soldiers in the War of 1812 and served from Franklin County, Ohio, Second Division, Fourth Brigade. Glass Amos was an Ensign and his sons were Privates. After the War, most of the family moved to Indiana. In 1820, Glass Amos and Mahitable, three sons and two daughters were in Knox County. Nathaniel and Harper were in Scott County, Indiana. Glass Amos died 01 Sep 1825, in Knox County,In. leaving his estate to his wife. Among his valuables was one Great Bible and other books. Some titles were: The Life of George Washington, Lewis and Clark's Travels, Confession of Faith, American Wars, and a two years' subscription to a magazine, plus more books on religion and devotions in the family. He is buried in Knox County, In.
