OBITUARY William Benson Taken by Death Passes Away at Family Home in Carlisle Ave This Morning Native of Racine
William O Benson, aged 55 years, died this morning at his residence, 1206 Carlisle avenue. He was born in this city Jan 25 1871. He was a son of Mr and Mrs Andrew Benson, pioneers of Racine.
He was educated in the public schools of the city and entered the employ of the Horlick Malted Milk company when he first started to make his way in the world. For 40 years he remained with that company, starting in as pipe-fitter and working his way up to the important post of engineer.
He is survived by his widow, two sons, William and George, and two daughters, Mrs Willis Lockwood and Miss Grace Benson, besides one brother, Louis, and one grandson. He was a member of Racine Masonic lodge, No. 92. He attended the First Congregational church.
The funeral will take place at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the residence. Burial will be in Mound cemetery.
