He was born in Sadus Twp., Bearion County, MI August 23, 1936 the son of Anthony J. and Doris Stainbrook Ushman Sr. He married Barbara Smith and she preceded him in death in 1996. He then married Sally Fox May 16, 1998 and she survives. He was also preceded in death by a son, James G. Smith.
He is also survived by his children; Pam (Brad) Risinger of Dawson, IL, Toni Lynn Ushman of Springfield, Barbara (Robert) LaPenna of Havertown, PA, Margaret (Keith) Mefford of Burton, MI, Dorothy (Don) Boblitt of Divernon, IL, Larry (Olive) Smith of Springfield, his sisters; Carol (Bob) Cheek and Mary (Don) Hopper both of Springfield, four brothers; Don (Carol) Ushman, Roger (Judy) Ushman, Kenny (Martha) Ushman, and Robbie (Janet) Ushman all of Springfield, 15 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Tony was a driver for Yellow Freight for over 30 years. He then was employed with Illinois Department of Transportation retiring in 1992. He was a member of Teamsters Local #916 in Springfield and Concordia Lutheran Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home 505 E. Allen where visitation will be from 4-7 pm Friday September 3, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday September 4, 2010 at the funeral home with Rev. Michael Koschmann officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
