Elvessa Violet Clason, 82, of Irwin Drive died at 5:02 a.m. Friday, June 20, 1997, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Ladies Circle and Moose Lodge.

Funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Inlow and Weaver Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike, with the Rev. Jon Carlstrom officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 8:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church.

Born Feb. 3, 1915, in Grammer, she was the daughter of Clinton and Grace Wasson VanBlaricum.

Survivors include sons, Dennis V. Prior and David L. Clason, both of Columbus; daughters, Sharon A. Smith of Columbus and Lovell D. Blake of Hope; a brother, Ebert VanBlaricum of Columbus; sisters, irene Crippen of Taylorsville and Juanita Britton of Michigan; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and one granddaughter.
