Leland A. VanBlaricum, 72, of Irwin Avenue died at 7:20 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 1997, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

He was a retired U.S. Postal worker, a Navy vetern of World War II and a member of the Moose Lodge and American Legion.

Funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Inlow and Weaver Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike, with the Rev. Jon Carlstrom officating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday. Burial and military graveside rites will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Mr. VanBlaricum was born at Grammer Nov. 2, 1924, the son of Clinton and Grace Wasson VanBlaricum.

He is survived by a brother, Ebert VanBlaricum of columbus; sisters, violet Clason of Columbus, Irene Crippen of Taylorsville and Juanita Britton of Lansing, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Stanley and Lucien VanBlaricum.
