Ephraim Stringer was born December 24, 1839 in Peoria, Illinois to Bluford and Almira Stringer, who went to Oregon in 1851, settling in Linn County. On July 4, 1864, he married Lucinda R. Beeler at Providence Baptist Church near Scio, Linn County, Oregon. After many years in Lebanon, OR, they moved to the Horse Heaven region of Yakima County WA in 1902, and shortly after bought a quarter section south of Prosser, with irrigation, and raised wheat, fruit and livestock. They had children Roberta, Rhoda, Perry, Ladonia, Evangeline, Gilbert, Chester, Cortis. At his request, he was buried in Bellevue cemetery, as was Lucinda, but son Chester later had his parents relocated to the family plot at Evergreen Memorial in McMinnville.

Per Findagrave member Beth Hancock Cross, Camas Funeral Home Records 1912 - 1943, show that Ephraim Stringer d. 8-10-1919 in Clark Co., WA. his body was shipped to McMinnville, OR.
The date is confirmed in WA state death records, which give his place of death as Washougal, Clark Co WA, and parents names as Bleuford Stringer-Elmiria Clark.
