George was Adjutant to the 1083 ATC Squadron based in Uxbridge. He was killed by shrapnel from an overhead dog-fight near Northolt Airfield on 6th October 1940. He is buried next to his brother Roland, in the cemetery of the tiny church of St Mary's in Northolt.
