Minnie Huffman Thompson was born in Davis County 8 Dec 1899 to Hiram and Alice Christy Hart Huffman and she had been a lifelong resident of Davis County. She was a graduate of the Southern Iowa Normal. She married Orin Thompson in Bloomfield 17 April 1920. Survivors include the widower; one daughter, Mrs. Roberta Sigman, Ottumwa; five sons, Harold of Humboldt, Charles Kendel of Ottumwa, Elwood of Cedar Rapids, LaVerne of Bloomfield and Gary of Ottumwa; three sisters, Mrs. Frank Rizor of Fairfield, Mrs.
Clyde McClure of Eldon, and Mrs. Lillie Lepper of California; two brothers, Bert Huffman of Ottumwa and
William Huffman of Eldon and 15 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Dennis in August of 1966 who was killed in a car accident while serving with the Navy at Norfolk, Virginia and one brother, John Huffman of Packwood.
