OBITUARY - The Carroll Times - 22 Dec 1921 Page 1 - Mrs. Clem Budden died late Friday night, December 16, 1921 after an illness of a few days with pneumonia. Her condition was not thought serious until a few hours before her death.
Mrs. Clem Budden, who was Miss Anna Schulte before her marriage, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, April 12, 1855. Her marriage to Mr. Budden took place March 5, 1878. She was one of the early settlers in this county and she and her husband knew the hardships of the pioneer Iowa farmers.
Besides her husband she leaves four children, Mrs. Martin Timmerman, Mrs. William Feld, and Mrs. Louis Baummhover, all of Carroll, and Mrs. Alois Schachtner, of Wimbleton, N. D. She also leaves 22 grandchildren. She was a faithful Catholic woman, well liked and highly respected by the entire community. Funeral services were held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel church Monday morning, December 19.
