Emigrated with parents to Philadelphia in 1843. Civil War Veteran, Company B, 91st Pennsylvania Infantry. Professor of French, painting and drawing at the Oxford Female College 1864-1882. He also taught in the preparatory department of Miami University. In 1879, along with his nephew Louis Wuille, he opened a store in Oxford called "The Art Emporium" where he sold books and art supplies, taught private students and painted portraits. He lived with his widowed sister Cornelia Wuille's family in the old McGuffey home on Spring Street in Oxford. When the Wuilles moved to Indianapolis, he moved into rooms over his store. Born Catholic, he joined and became an active member of the Oxford Presbyterian Church. Among his students in the Miami preparatory department was the noted artist DeScott Evans whose cenotaph is located in the Oxford Cemetery. His older brother, Philibert was an artist and teacher in Cincinnati.

Beaugureau was master of the Oxford Masonic lodge for three years (1876, 1877 and 1878), a charter member of the Oxford chapter of the G.A.R. and active in civic affairs of Oxford.
