Born Feb. 20, 1922, in Oak Hill to Carl R. and Mamie E. Rupp Bleichner, she married James E. Smith on July 6, 1950, in Rochester, Minn. He died Nov. 6, 1999, in East Peoria.
She also was preceded in death by one brother and an infant sister.
Surviving are one sister, Alice Johnson of Peoria; and four brothers, Clifford (and Eleanor) Bleichner of Hanna City, Harold (and Mardell) Bleichner and Glenn (and Lois) Bleichner, both of Yates City, and Merle (and Jolene) Bleichner of Byron, Minn.
She worked as a seamstress in Peoria at Boss Glove factory for 18 1/2 years and Princess Peggy for 7 1/2 years before retiring.
Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery.
