BRITT LEANDER WILLITS
Britt was the second of six children born to Maria (Shields) and Levi Perry Willits. His mother Maria was born in Eliza, Illinois and father Levi in Wayne County, Indiana. His parents were married in Mercer County, Illinois in 1871. Sometime between their marriage and before the 1880 census they moved to Adams County, Iowa where they remained for the rest of their lives.

On March 16, 1904 Britt married Lillian L. Lahr daughter of Anna (Barchers) and Jacob Lahr in Prescott, Adams County, Iowa.
To this union was born one son; Britt Lahr Willits. They lived and farmed in the Adams County, Iowa area their whole married lives.
Britt died in in 1958 and is buried in the West Fairview cemetery with many other family members including his wife and son, his son's wife Gladys, his brothers Glen & Blaine, an un-named infant nephew and his parents.
