BLAINE WILLITS
Blaine was the youngest of six children born to Maria (Shields) and Levi Perry Willits of Mercer County, IL. After his parents marriage in 1871 they moved to Adams County, Iowa where all six of their children were born and raised.
Around 1919 Blaine married Georgia Edna Simmons, later known as Edna. She was the daughter of Josephine C (Kent) and Charles White Simmons, JR. In the 1920 census Edna's name was recorded as George Edna Willetts. Blaine was working as an Inspector in the tractor manufacturing Industry.
To this union was born one daughter. Marian Willits was born Jan 25, 1921 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Shortly after her birth her parents divorced. Her mother remarried in 1928 and in 1930 they are living in Lakeland, Florida along with Edna's mother Josephine. Marian was raised by her mother and stepfather Irving Poore. She never married and lived out her life in Florida where she died in 1977 at the age of 56.
On Nov 11, 1929 Blaine married Burnedette Cecelia Tuscany, daughter of Delphine (Pomerleau) and Lawrence L Tuscany in Minnehaha, South Dekota. I found no records of any children being born to this marriage? This was her third marriage and his second. They also divorced between 1930 & 1940.
Burnedette died in 1954 at the age of 67 and is buried in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minnesota with her family. Blaine died in Nicollet County, Minnesota in 1957 at the age of 71. He was returned to Iowa and is buried in the West Fairview Cemetery in Taylor County with his family.
