Edward James Wallwork was born on August 15, 1915 to Joseph Wallwork and Lillian Dean in Yonkers, New York. Ed's early life included spending many blissful summers in the Pennsylvania countryside farm with his relatives. A steamfitter by trade Ed joined the Seabees in mid 1942, right after marrying Ms. Anna Finlay on February 27th of that same year. Once trained in Rhode Island he shipped out to the Japanese Theatre where he spent time on Guadalcanal, Green, Ondonga and Okinawa islands, constructing Quonset huts and building and repairing air strips, all the while being shot at by the enemy. Returning unscathed from the war after earning his honorable discharge in late 1945 Ed began his career with Honeywell Controls as a steamfitter. Along the way he and Anna delivered two girls, Ann (Oberhauser) and Ellen (Bedford). Tragically Ed's wife Anna developed cancer and passed away on January 14, 1961. Ed soon began courting Anna's older sister, Mary Rita Finlay. Not long after the two were married. Upon Ed's retirement from Honeywell Controls in 1975 he and Mary moved to Palm Harbor, Florida where they enjoyed the warm sun, casino ventures, bingo and visits from family and friends for the next twenty-nine years, ending only in Ed's passing in 2004.
