Carrie Merritt Schwab, 94, passed away on Sunday Nov 9, 2003 shortly after her son-in-law Dee Moser and Maurice Zardus gave her a priesthood blessing. With a tear of gratitude running down her check, and Louise and Dee at her side, Carrie returned to Heaven.
Carrie, the eighth of 11 children, was born to Robert and Lena Anglesey on Oct 14, 1909.
Oct 12, 1927 Carrie married William Edward Merritt in the Logan LDS Temple. Together they built a small home in Turnerville where they raised a family of six girls.
Carrie is survived by her six daughters; Bada Jackson, Shirley (and Dee) Moser, Laura Simpson, Zelma (and Wayne) Linford and Norene (and Paul) Quinn. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren; three stepdaughters, on stepson and the Schwab family's 25 grandchildren and 58 great-great-grandchildren.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
After Carrie's husband Edward died she moved to Afton. Carrie met Martin Schwab while she worked at Fred's Cafe. They were married and spent 18 happy years, fishing, snowmobiling, taking many well deserved trips, and just enjoying each other's company.
When Martin died, Carrie moved to Jackson. She loved her home and continued her hobbies of crocheting, embroidering, quilting, baking and cooking.
At the age of 86, her health required her to live at the St.Johns Living Center, where she resided for the past eight years. she was "Grandma" to everyone there.
