The remains of Mrs. Thomas Campbell, for many years a resident of this community, were laid to rest Sunday in the Coon Rapids cemetery following funeral services conducted at the Methodist Episcopal church by Rev. R. J. Arms. Mrs. Campbell passed away at Mitchell, South Dakota, her home since leaving here in 1917.
She was born at Rock Island, Illinois on January 10, 1853. In August of 1871 she married Thomas M. Campbell and later they moved to Coon Rapids where they made their home for many years. She was a faithful member of the Methodist church.
Surviving are six sons: Vern of Letcher, South Dakota; Lloyd of Coon Rapids; John of Madison, South Dakota; Charley of Lake City; Hugh of Brawley, California; two daughters, Mrs. R. P. Shawd of Letcher, South Dakota, and Esther and a boy, George, whom they raised. There are also thirty grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
