Philadelphia, Jan 31-Chaplain Dudley Chase, U./s.A., retired, is dead in this city, aged 91 years. Mr Chase was born in Hartfield, CT, 5 Mar 1816. He was ordained deacon at Rushville, IL in Jun 1842, and priest at Quincy, IL by his father, the late Rev. Dr Phillander Chase, bishop of IL, a year later. After his ordination he went west. In 1864 he was appointed a chaplain in the army and served at various forts in California and Nevada.
