William Safford Prunty, 67, prominent citizen and widely known farmer of the Snow Creek section of Franklin County, north of Figsboro, passed away at his home near Snow Creek Thursday afternoon following a brief illness. Death was attributed to pneumonia and complications. Funeral services were held from the late home Friday afternoon, with burial following in the family grave yard nearby. Active pall bearers were nephews of the deceased, Lawson Younger, Bruce Younger, Robert Ramsey, William Ramsey, Burton Ramsey, Bernard Williamson and Andrew Belcher. Flower bearers were nieces of the deceased. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ida Ramsey Prunty. Several brothers and sisters also remain, Mrs. R. S. Williamson, this city, being a sister. A number of relatives and friends of the deceased from Martinsville attended the final rites.
